Crisis & Counseling Centers is a collaborative and comprehensive behavioral health agency operating in Central Maine. Since its founding 51 years ago, Crisis & Counseling Centers has become one of the most trusted behavioral health agencies in Maine, with approximately 120 employees located across several facilities and numerous community-based settings statewide.

We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as a member of our Senior Management team and oversee all Human Resource activities within the agency. This position will provide senior leadership, while utilizing best practice operations that support the agency’s mission, guiding principles, and strategic initiatives in relation to HR.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Directly manage HR staff while providing executive leadership to the entire agency as part of the Senior Management team
  • Report and collaborate with the agency’s CEO, Senior Management team, and the Board of Directors in all areas related to Human Resources.
  • Handle all reports of personnel concerns and facilitate progressive disciplinary actions, including reprimands, suspensions and dismissals.
  • Maximize employee potential by creating and maintaining accurate job descriptions, clear expectations, and effective performance management.
  • Keep the agency competitive in recruiting and retaining quality employees by maintaining an up-to-date compensation system.
  • Annually review the agency’s benefit plan while ensuring that optimal employee benefits are given within available resources.

Education/Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources required.
  • HR certification or ability to become certified in HR Management preferred.
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Management and/or supervisory experience preferred.

Hours:

This is a full time (40 hours/week), exempt position. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Location:

This position will be based out of our main, office which is located in Augusta, ME. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.

Pay Rate:

This is a salary position and the range is from $65,000-$70,000/year.
