Crisis and Counseling Centers is Growing! We are seeking full-time, part-time and per diem residential crisis workers to work in our Augusta, Winslow and Waterville Crisis Stabilization Units.

Residential Crisis Workers provide support services to adults and children who have experienced a mental health crisis. Clients are referred to the CSU based on concerns for safety, or inability to cope with symptoms of a mental illness or simply difficulty coping with a life event. Clients are admitted for a short term stay as a deterrent to a psychiatric hospitalization. During a client stay, staff assist in helping them to develop skills to allow them to return to their own community environment.

Crisis Residential workers provide risk assessment, treatment planning, support groups as well as coordinate services for discharge planning. In addition, staff are responsible for maintaining a therapeutic environment while maintaining and protecting client rights.

Hours

  • 7:00am to 3:00pm
  • 3:00pm to 11:00pm
  • 11:00pm to 7:00am

***Starting pay is $12.85 per hour. Shift Differentials for 2nd shift, 3rd shift as well as weekends can increase your base pay up to $3 per hour.

May require travel to work sites in Waterville, Winslow, Skowhegan and Augusta

Requirements

Experience in a residential setting is preferred, good communication and rapport building skills are needed. Experience working with individuals and groups as well as experience working within a multi-disciplinary team. MHRT I or MHRT C certification preferred, however MHRT-I Training will be provided to qualified candidates within the first year of hire, including CRMA, CPR, First Aid, Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS) Training.

A valid Maine driver’s license and vehicle insurance as required.

Education

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED, Associates or Bachelors in Social Services field preferred.
